Dark Dreams RHN: new areas

The Autumn has inspired me to make yet another big location for Dark Dreams RHN - Autumn Forest:
Meet "Autumn Spirit" (it's an NPC)
Believe it or not - it's a puzzle! Every Survival Horror must have some.

Autumn forest is a "relaxing area" with NPCs and puzzles. It becomes accessible right before the final boss.

Dark Dreams RHN - the new name of Romantic Horror Nights (still Work In Progress). Name is not the only change - making many changes along the way. More info here: Dark Dreams RHN


 

Saturn Quest, which was a part of Romantic Horror Nights gradually evolves into its own game. At some point it will be released as Saturn Quest: Shadow of Planetus, an 8bit style clone of Shadow of the Colossus.

A few words about the game... Made on Game Maker Studio 2 and tested on Windows 10. C:TSOTC is a game for Windows.
Default control method is keyboards:

W-A-S-D: movement
J: Jump
K: Primary Attack
L: Status menu
Q,E,U,I: Sub-weapons (if present)
ESC: quit game (if status menu is active)
1-2-3: title screen
ALT+ENTER: full-screen

Alternatively you can play the game on XBox controller (not tested). Other controllers might not work. You can try Xpadder to solve this.

RHN: Saturn Quest - "An 8 bit Shadow of the Colossus"

This month I was working on the 8bit part of RHN - a big in-game "Saturn Quest", that is basically an 8-bit Shadow of the Colossus clone.

This month was slow, but I have achieved my goal - most of the background sprites are done and ready to use. The rest of the project should be much more interesting for me to make and the next goal is "DEMO 00B" featuring the top-down 8bit levels.

CTSOTC: WIP Episodes 1 & 2

Still working on my Castlevania fan game... Uploaded 2 "Work in Progress" videos on YouTube if anyone in the world is interested.

Have in mind that after the battle with Carmilla the game just stops. You can still explore the lands and even meet a ghost telling you to look for his brothers and that the third one will show you the path. But the third ghost will never appear in this demo. So don't bother :). Also there is a minimal chance to kill Carmilla and die on spikes at the same moment. This isn't fatal and it will be resolved soon.

Romantic Horror Nights. April 2018

This month was tough. But! I have finished the "Demo 0" I was talking about earlier. I'm not going to upload the actual demo (it's about 10 minutes long anyway), but here's a video of it:



The entire next month I will be working on backgrounds - I must know how each and every area of this world looks like  (I'll have a lot of stuff to show here).
Then I'll start working on "Demo 01".

Romantic Horror Nights. February 2018


I have started a new project - a survival horror/action platformer combo called Romantic Horror Nights. For more info on it follow the link on the right side of the page --->>>

*My C:TSOTC project is in development still. Should be finished this year.

*Mirage of Dragon was released on Steam. Nobody cares about it. If "RHN" will be as "popular" as my previous projects I'll have to quit making video games. It doesn't feel fair, but the key line is "nobody cares". Yeah, yeah, I know...

Anyway, Romantic Horror Nights will be my best game so far. I will be writing about it here at least once a month.
